Beginners' Tips For Wedding Scrapbook Pages

If you're trying to create some unique and memorable wedding scrapbook pages, you may have realized by now that it's a bit more difficult than you might have imagined. This isn't because you're stuck for ideas but probably because you're overwhelmed with all the great scrapbooking crafts out there! From old-time Victorian pages to fun and whimsical ideas, there is just about no end to the types of wedding scrapbook pages you can create. So where to begin and how to keep yourself from being overwhelmed?

One thing you can do is try to think of the theme or tone of your wedding. Was it a springtime wedding in a garden or formal affair in a large cathedral? Your wedding scrapbook pages should reflect this; those Victorian-looking pages are going to seem out of place with photos of your casual garden wedding. Save those for other craft projects and instead stay with colors, embellishments and designs that most reflect the feel of your wedding. Another idea for wedding scrapbook pages along these same lines is to "think outside the box," that is, don't just shop for your pages and embellishments in the wedding section of your scrapbook store. Instead take a good look at all the cardstock and pages they offer. If your wedding is a fall event, you might find some cardstock or embellishments with autumn leaves or fall colors? If you had a summer wedding then check where they have beach or summer pages; all of these might work just as well for your wedding scrapbook pages. Think outside of the box and use your creativity and imagination, and you will have a good starting place for your scrapbook.Remember to add romantic scrapbooking phrases.

Another idea to consider is to really let your photos tell a story and incorporate these stories into your wedding scrapbook pages. Start with a photo of each of you as children and have photos of the same types of milestones - each of you getting your driver's license, going to college, and so on. Your wedding scrapbook pages will be able to tell your entire love story and not just the single story of your wedding day. You can and should of course use pictures from your courtship and engagement as well. You may need to design more wedding scrapbook page layouts than you orginally anticipated and shop for more scrapbooking die cuts. However, when it's completed you will have a gorgeous scrapbook album that will last for years to come.
