Floral Embellishments - Petaloo Flowers Bring Happiness to Women in India and Stimulate Economies

Economy is rough all over the world especially in India, where it is almost impossible to find employment. As India continues to make efforts to jump out of poverty, there is one little town that is able to continue to earn money and make ends meet because of flowers. But not the kind that sit under the sun, paper and fabric flowers. 300 women on a daily basis put together these scrapbook embellishments for crafters all over the world to enjoy. From Chamarajanagara, India Petaloo flowers are then shipped from this small sub-factory worldwide to craft stores and then purchased into the homes of many women who make cards, gifts, and scrapbook pages. The women although not very literate because of lack of education are a humble and grateful people. As they produce scrapbook flowers they can't help but feel happy when they work. But not just because they can put food on the table, but the mere fact that seeing flowers of all kinds and colors, although not real, puts a smile on their faces. This small town had been in its third year of severe drought, thus not seeing any type of vegetation grow, let alone floral plants. Scrapbook embellishments might not have caused rain to fall upon Chamarajanagara, but it has brought happiness.

The women and their families were not the only ones' being blessed. It also meant a lot to Petaloo and other scrapbooking companies. They too learned great lessons such as resilience, persistence, and perseverance. Although there were no droughts of water like India, there have been many financial droughts in the crafting industry. Despite many of these challenges, all employers are very grateful for everything they have been able to accomplish and that they are all still working and have jobs to support their families. Another lesson learned by some of these craft and hobby companies is to stick together and together they can overcome. If one way doesn't work they find another way. And because of this attitude, there are millions of people employed today including those ladies in India assembling flower embellishments.

It is reasonable to assume that flowers make everyone happy and to feel good and this is exactly what has happened to 300 women in India. To embellish a scrapbooking page or card with paper or fabric flowers brings joy to a receiver and the crafter without the vase. This is what creating memories and creating jobs should be about. So when you decorate a card with petals, just remember it might have a stronger impact on the world than you think. In essence it is stimulating economies and making people happy.
