Sound Stripes™ is the most convenient
and economical way ever invented to add audio messages to
your family scrapbook or school yearbook. In addition, it
can be used for baby books, genealogy and family heritage
albums, and much more. Now you can capture the voices of
friends and loved ones, and all the sounds in your life,
and integrate them with photographs and journal pages to
create a complete picture of your most memorable moments.
These high quality digital recordings will last a lifetime
so they can be passed on to future generations!
The Sound Stripes™ kit consists of a digital recorder
with built in optical reader (patent pending) and works
with specially coded labels. The product can record and
automatically retrieve up to (30) 20-second messages and
playback sound quality remains consistent and true to the
original, time after time.
Here’s how the system works:
The recorder is a palm size device that uses digital chip
technology so there are no tapes to break, no equipment
to hook up, and no discs to pop in - only two buttons to
push, one for record and one for play. It’s that simple.
Recording
a Message
1) Align the label within the recess in the back of the
recorder. With the label fully engaged, the word "Sound
Stripes" on the label will just be visible above the
front edge of the recorder.
2) Press the red Record button momentarily until you hear
a chime-like sound.
3) Within a few seconds of reading the label, start recording
a message by pressing and holding the Record button. The
red LED light will be on as the message is recording. It
flashes at 15 seconds and goes out at the 20-second mark.
Reviewing a Message
1) You can hear a new message immediately by pressing the
green Play button. If it is not what you want, simply record
the message again.
Archiving
a Message
1) When the message is ready to archive, peel off the archive
tab at the bottom of the label. The label will now be “play
only.”
Using
your Label on a Page
1) Peel off the backing and adhere your label to any page.
In the case of a scrapbook page, make sure it is placed
on top of the page protector and not the page itself, so
the recorder can read it properly.
Note: The Sound Stripes™ labels, which are the only
part of the system that stays in your scrapbook or yearbook,
will not affect either pictures or paper. They have been
verified as fully compatible with all photo archival applications.*

Playing
a Message
1) Accurately align the recorder with the label on your
page. You will feel the recorder fully engage the label
and the word "Sound Stripes" on the label will
just be visible above the front edge of the recorder.
2) With the label engaged, press the green Play button and
enjoy your message.
