Before you buy a baby high chair, do some research to learn what safety features you should look for. Most baby items are inspected before they ever make it to the shelves of your local department store but you can never be too cautious. Look for inspection stickers or manufacturer warrantees before you purchase any baby product, including a baby high chair.

To ensure that baby high chairs are stable and steady, they must have wide leg bases. Look for baby high chairs with solid legs made from metal, plastic or wood. These will be more stable than hollow legs, to prevent the chair from tipping over if the baby gets excited or wiggles around too much.

Prop your little one up to get accustomed to the feel of a baby high chair. Remember to never leave your child unattended in the chair, or anywhere near kid pillows because they can be a suffocation hazard.
