A Lovely Gift for Your Mum Would Be Some Jewellery
With Mother’s Day fast approaching it’s time for all us children to think about what our mum’s would like as a little gift.
Sadly for me my mum is longer with us, so personally it's not something I have to think about, but I have 2 kids of my own and they always splash their cash on a little present for me. I have to shop around for something for my husband's mum as he doesn't have any idea about what she likes and would end up with a last minute gift of a bunch of flowers from the garage!!
From a personal point of view I’m especially keen on silver rings and have quite a large collection. It doesn't make any difference if it's cheap or expensive, just so long as it's in a style that I like. To me a little ring from one of the shops on the High Street is just as precious as an expensive jewellery shop, because it's the fact that they have taken the time out to go and buy me something.
Funnily enough last year they both gave me silver earrings. For children I will say that they have pretty good tastes in ladies jewellery, so this must have rubbed off from my influence.
The same can't be said for the presents they got for their dad on Father's Day last year. They both chose men’s jewellery for him, and in all honesty neither piece was something my husband would wear. Never mind, perhaps this year they might get him a set of screwdrivers – that would certainly keep him happy. Better still would be something to do with his much loved golf clubs. I have never met anyone who is so keen on their sport. In fact the only time my husband doesn't go out on the golf course is when it is shut due to thunder and lightning.
With all that in mind I have better make sure he hasn't planned a golf game for Mother's Day. The kids may stretch to getting me a present, but hubby is the one who makes sure I get a cooked breakfast, no way would I let the kids loose in the kitchen.
