I replaced the rear drum seal on my whirlpool dryer. I believe I have assembled it back correctly.?
There is not a whole lot to assemble in the dryer. The belt routing through the idler pulley (belt tensioner) is the only critical item. I think I have it right. There is only one way I could assemble it. However the drum is now hard to turn. It causes the motor to make lot of humming noise and it over heats. The thermal overload cuts it in less than 5 minutes after starting. The dryer is Whirlpool electric model LE6098XTN0. Any one having any similar experiance please advise.

Thank goodness for thermal overloads.
I am wondering if the drum was positioned correctly upon assembly, or is it a bit off. It is very touchy as to getting the drum back in the proper position.
Also, my Whirlpool model has rollers that the drum rides on as it turns. If the roller goes bad, it is hard to turn.
The only other think I can think of is the belt tension-er.
They also can go bad, and make it hard to turn.
Do you detect a smell of burning rubber? Meaning the belt is slipping.
Hard to diagnose with out seeing it.
