5 Personalized Keepsake Gifts for Babies
A great gift idea that will serve as a memento to a child of their baby and infant years is a personalized baby keepsake that has their name on it and possibly the date of birth as well. Some parents may be surprised about the value of providing such gifts, but especially when the child is growing and seeking a psychological sense of belongingness, these gifts help create a sense of family and community.
Personalized gifts are easy to customize and personalize and there are many gift companies that are willing to add customization to their products at no additional cost. If you are making the gift yourself, then all the better. No matter what gift it is, if it is personalized, the child's name will be on it forever and the gift will be uniquely theirs. Here are some ideas for personalized keepsake gifts for kids.
Baby Sweats – These are a great idea for those who like to keep their kids nice and warm during cool days or winter. Some parents who graduated from an Ivy League college or university or have high ambitions for their child have the logos of the university placed on the sweats with the name of the child and the date of birth on the back.
Baby Rattler – One of the all time classic favourite gift ideas, these gifts can be purchased with personalized text at many online vendors. Simply ask the company to place the name of the child on the handle of the rattler plus the date of birth or a baby shower date.
Towels, handtowels, and face towels – These may be one of the most convenient gifts to be given away as people often need more than one of these. Ask the person in charge of monograms to place the name of the child in one corner of the towel. The child could actually grow up with the towel and use it for many years until it deteriorates. It can also be saved as a keepsake and used sparingly.
Cloth diapers – Many parents use disposable diapers instead of cloth diapers due to their ease of use, but even for those parents, cloth diapers are still soft on the skin and good for wiping a baby clean. The baby cloth diapers are soft enough to wipe without leaving the skin irritated. Place the name of the child on one corner of the cloth diaper and also the date if desired.
Scrapbook – This may be unusual, but a scrapbook filled with photographs or images taken during a baby shower or a child's birth itself is one of the simplest and most memorable ways to keep the day alive. With the scrapbook, a child or guest can look back to the time of the party and see how everyone was having fun. The child could also see their mother when she was still pregnant with them and of course the decorations and cakes used during the celebration. Place the name of the child and the birth date on the cover of the scrapbook.
Asides from these ideas, there are many other personalized baby gift ideas that are floating around. All it takes is a little bit of imagination and creativity to pick a gift that is informative and memorable.
